Central government likely to announce bonus to its non gazetted employees
The central government likely to announce an ad hoc bonus equivalent to 30 days emoluments to its non gazetted employees ahead of the festive season.
Central government employees in Group C and all non gazetted employees in Group B would get the ad hoc non productivity linked bonus.
The government may sanction grant of non productivity linked bonus (ad hoc bonus) equivalent to 30 days emoluments for the accounting year 2015 to 16 to the central government employees (non gazetted) and the notification in this regad, will be issued shortly, after getting direction from the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, a senior official of Finance Ministry said.
The monthly bonus calculation ceiling has been enhanced to Rs 7,000 per month from existing Rs 3,500 with effect from April 1, 2014 and the government has already paid arrears of bonus of year 2014 to 15 the source added.
So, the limit for bonus now is Rs 7,000, and the bonus will also be given to all non gazetted employees, who are not covered by any productivity linked bonus scheme, he also told us.
The 30 day ad hoc bonus is expected to be Rs 6,908 per employee while last year, the ad hoc bonus paid was Rs 3,454 per employee, he confirmed.
The payment will also be admissible to the central Police and para military personnel and personnel of armed forces.
Employees of the Union Territory Administration, which follows the central government pattern of emoluments and not covered by any other bonus or ex gratia scheme would also be eligible for this ad hoc bonus.
The expenditure incurred on this account will be debitable to the respective heads to which the pay and allowances of these employees are debited, the Finance Ministry official said.
