New Delhi: The Finance Ministry has got 7-day extension to issue the 7th Pay Commission recommendations notification, a Finance Ministry official said on Wednesday on condition of anonymity.
This week is the scheduled for issuing notification for the Finance Ministry, but, the time was extended by 7 days because the complexity in the 7th Pay Commission report just going to take time.
Highly placed sources said despite the complexity in the 7th Pay Commission report, the Finance Ministry will issue the notification shortly, the same points of pay hike, which were approved by the cabinet. So the ministry takes some amount of time.
However, the 6th Pay Commission notification was issued on 29th August 2008, after 16 days of Cabinet nod.
The 7th Pay Commission report on raising the basic salary scale for for central government employee was got cabinet nod on June 29.
The cabinet gave nod for raising minimum pay to Rs 18,000 per month from current Rs 7,000 while the maximum pay, drawn by the Cabinet Secretary, was raised Rs 2.5 lakh per month from current Rs 90,000.
The central government employees could get the revised pay from their August salaries and arrears are to be also paid in this Financial year. So, FM wants to issue notification shortly, the official said.
However, all existing allowances to be paid as per the existing rates in existing pay structure, as government referred all allowances including HRA, transport allowance to a committee headed by Finance Secretary for examination of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations on its. The committee shall submit its report within four months, the cabinet note says.
